Owning a mistake shrinks it. Hiding one makes it grow in the dark.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A mistake you admit becomes a fixed size. It stays what it was, and everyone involved can see the edges of it. Concealment is what adds weight, because then you are managing the error and the cover at the same time, and the fear of being found out keeps rewriting how bad it was. Secrecy turns a small wrong thing into a heavy one.
If something is sitting unsaid, say it to one person today, plainly and without a long preamble. Lead with what happened and what you intend to do next. The reaction is usually smaller than the version you have been rehearsing.
