Panic shrinks the room. A slow breath gives you your space back. Nothing weak about taking it.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Fear narrows things. Your attention pulls in until the threat is all that is left, and from inside that narrow space every option looks closed. Slowing your breathing solves nothing by itself, but it widens the frame enough that more than one move becomes visible again. That is not avoidance, it is getting your field of view back.

When the walls come in this week, give yourself thirty seconds before you act. Breathe out longer than you breathe in, and look at something across the room. Then decide, with more of the room available to you.
