The night before results, the number’s already decided. Worrying tonight changes nothing, so let yourself sleep.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Anxiety runs on the assumption that attention affects outcome. Before an exam it sometimes does, because thinking can still change what you know. Afterwards it cannot, and the mind carries on anyway, treating rehearsal as though it were preparation for something still open. The result is already fixed, so the worry is cost with no return.
On nights like that, the useful work is on the sleep rather than the outcome. Put the phone somewhere else, do something dull and absorbing, and let tomorrow be tomorrow. Whatever the number turns out to be, you will meet it better rested.
