A life lived permanently at maximum speed eventually loses its steering.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Speed sustained without pause narrows attention to whatever is immediately in front of you. Direction requires a wider view, and that view is the first thing to go when you never slow down. So people end up moving very fast along a path they would not have chosen if they had looked up, and the momentum itself makes the correction harder to imagine.

Book an hour with no task attached and use it to ask whether the direction still fits. Not the tactics, the direction. Steering needs slack, and slack has to be made rather than found.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

When did you last slow down enough to check your direction?
