Not every empty hour needs to justify its existence.
GRATITUDE
The habit of accounting for every hour turns your whole life into a ledger, and it means you can never be anywhere without a reason. Some hours are for nothing in particular, and their value is not that they secretly produce something later. It is that a life composed entirely of justified time is a thin one, however impressive it looks on paper.
Leave a space this week that has no purpose and refuse to fill it usefully. Notice the discomfort and let it pass. Being able to sit in unaccounted time is a capacity worth keeping.
When did you last let an hour pass without a purpose?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
