People can tell when an account leaves out the timing, the introduction, the thing that happened to go right. An explanation with no luck in it reads as either self-deception or sales, and both cost you credibility. Naming the luck subtracts nothing from the work, since the work was still required and plenty of people with the same luck did not do it.
Tell the honest version next time you explain how something happened. Include the part you did not control. It makes the rest believable and it is kinder to whoever is listening.
