An album that’s been “almost done” for three years is just a folder. Finish it and let it be what it is.
CREATIVITY
CREATIVITY
Unfinished work protects you, which is most of why it stays unfinished. While it is in progress it cannot be judged, and its potential remains intact in a way no released version ever manages. The last ten percent is hard for reasons that have very little to do with the work itself.
Set a finishing date and accept whatever version you have by then. It will be worse than the imagined one and it will exist, which is the trade. Then start the next thing, because most of what you wanted from the first comes from having finished it.
What have you nearly finished and never let anyone hear?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
