A decision that turns out badly still generates information and momentum, both of which can be used. Indecision produces neither, and it quietly costs you the same time while feeling safer. Staying still is not neutral, it is a choice with all of the downside and none of the learning.

If you have been stuck on something for weeks, set a deadline and take the better-looking option. Assume you will adjust, and plan the first checkpoint. Almost any direction gives you something to correct, and standing still gives you nothing.
