The grade, the injury, the debt or the record lands on you specifically, because you are the one who has to live in your life. That is uncomfortable, and it is also where all of your power sits.
When you are about to do something on someone else’s encouragement, ask who carries it if it goes wrong. If the answer is only you, then the decision should be only yours. Take advice widely and keep the final call close.
