Ask yourself which option you’ll regret less at thirty. Then go with that one.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Distance changes what looks important. A decision made from inside the week weighs embarrassment, inconvenience and other people’s reactions heavily, and almost none of that survives ten years. Imagining the older version of you looking back strips out the temporary pressures and leaves the part that will actually matter.
When you are stuck, ask which choice the person you will be at thirty would rather you had made. Answer honestly rather than nobly, since regret is specific and usually about things not attempted. Then act on it while the question is still fresh.
Which choice would you regret less ten years from now?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
