Let someone else choose for you and they’ll go home tonight. The results move in with you.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Whoever makes the decision and whoever lives in it are often not the same person, and only one of them has a stake. Advice is sincere and costs the giver nothing once the conversation ends, while the result stays with you through every ordinary morning that follows. That asymmetry is worth remembering when handing over a choice feels like relief.
Gather opinions, then make the call yourself, out loud, so it is clearly yours. If you cannot say why you chose it, you have probably borrowed the decision rather than made it.
Which decision did you hand off and then have to live with?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
