Gratitude you only feel doesn’t reach anyone. Say it out loud so it can land somewhere.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Unspoken gratitude helps only the person feeling it. You can hold real appreciation for someone for years and leave them with no evidence of it, because nothing about the internal version crosses the gap. People are generally worse at guessing they are valued than you assume. What is never said is, for them, simply never said.
Pick one person and tell them the specific thing rather than the general one. Say what they did and what it meant, in two sentences. Do it now rather than at the occasion where it would be expected, since the unscheduled version lands harder.
Who have you appreciated silently for months without telling them?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
