Almost nothing you type after 2 a.m. sounds as good in daylight. Save it for the morning.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Late at night the filter thins and everything feels more urgent than it is. Tiredness turns the volume up on feeling and down on judgment, a combination that produces messages you would never compose at noon. The thought is not necessarily wrong. The timing is what makes it unreliable.
Write it if you need to, then leave it unsent and go to sleep. Read it in the morning and see how much survives daylight. Whatever still seems true can be sent then, usually shorter and without the parts that were mostly exhaustion.
What did you write late at night and regret by morning?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
