Being physically capable gives ordinary choices a freedom that becomes obvious only when capability changes.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

The freedom in physical capability lives in small ordinary choices: taking the stairs, saying yes to a walk, sitting on the floor with someone, travelling light. None of it feels like freedom until the option disappears, and then its absence shapes the whole day. Capability is best understood as the size of the menu you get to choose from.

Notice how many of today’s small choices assume your body will cooperate. Then think about what would keep that menu wide. Usually the answer is unglamorous and available.
