Staying exactly the same also has a price. It just sends the bill later.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Not changing feels free because the cost is deferred rather than absent. The bill turns up as a narrower set of options, work that no longer fits, or a life you chose by not choosing, and it is difficult to connect to any particular day. Both paths cost something; only one lets you see the invoice.
Compare the two honestly the next time you are avoiding a change. Ask where the current path leads if nothing moves for five years. Then decide which bill you would rather receive.
What has staying put already quietly cost you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
