Looking at your bank balance when you’re afraid to is the first step toward ever feeling good about it.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Money fear works by keeping you uninformed, which then makes the fear permanent. Every unchecked day the number becomes a little more frightening in your head than it probably is on the screen, and no plan can be made against a figure you refuse to see. Nothing improves while the information stays unavailable.
Open it once, write the number down, and do nothing else that day. Tomorrow, list what goes out and when. Whatever the situation turns out to be, it becomes workable the moment it becomes visible, and shame is not a useful budgeting tool.
When did you last look at your balance on purpose?
