Little kids build castles out of couch cushions with total seriousness. Bring that energy back.

CREATIVITY
Children commit fully to things they know are not real, and the commitment is what makes the play work. Somewhere along the way you learned to hedge, to signal that you are not taking your own project too seriously in case it fails. That hedge costs you most of the energy the work needed.
Drop the running commentary about how it is only a small thing you are messing around with. Give the silly project your actual effort for one afternoon and see what it becomes when nobody is apologising for it.
What would you build if nobody could call it silly?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
