Learning a language is thousands of boring flashcards and then one day you understand a joke.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Progress in anything built from small units is invisible until it crosses a threshold. For a long stretch you are stacking pieces with nothing to show, and the feeling is that none of it is landing. Then a moment arrives where everything assembles at once, and it seems sudden even though it was not. The boring part was the mechanism, not the delay before the mechanism.
Stop measuring by how fluent today felt and measure by whether the reps happened. Keep them small and daily. Save one real test for once a month so you can watch the line move.
Which repetitive practice are you quitting just before it pays?
