A to-do list is a wish list until something on it gets crossed out.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Writing something down feels like commitment, and for a moment it relieves the pressure of remembering. That relief is the trap, because nothing has changed in the world yet. A list becomes a plan only at the point where a line gets finished and disappears from it.
Keep the list shorter than feels responsible, and cross something off before adding anything new. If a line has survived three weeks untouched, shrink it to a first step you could do in ten minutes, or take it off entirely. An honest short list will carry you further than a comforting long one.
