God doesn’t only live in mountaintop moments. He’s in the cereal-and-bus-stop mornings too.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Expecting God only in heightened moments quietly rules out most of your life. Mornings on a bus, cereal, the walk between classes, those hours make up the bulk of the years and they are not spiritually empty by default, they are just unremarkable. Treating the ordinary as the waiting room between real moments means missing where nearly everything actually happens.

Pick one dull recurring stretch of your day and pay attention in it. Pray during it in plain words, or simply be present. The point is not to make the morning special but to stop skipping it.
