You’re not a guest in God’s house. You got adopted, with a room and a key.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A guest is careful. You watch where you sit, you do not open cupboards, and you stay faintly aware that the welcome could end. Living that way with God, or with any family that has taken you in, keeps you polite and exhausted. Adoption changes the terms permanently: a room, a key, and no ongoing audition.

Notice where you still behave like a visitor in your own life, apologising for taking up space or for asking. Try one week of acting as though you belong where you are. Ask for what you need directly, and let yourself be at ease in the place you have already been given.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where do you still act like a visitor who might be asked to leave?
