You carry the fingerprints of a Creator. Of course you want to make things.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

The urge to make things is not a hobby bolted onto being human. It turns up everywhere and in everyone, in kids arranging rocks and adults rebuilding engines, long before anybody is good at it. If you were made by someone who makes, the impulse is inherited rather than invented. That would explain why a long stretch of making nothing feels like a specific kind of flatness.

Make something small this week with no purpose and no audience. Cook it, write it, build it, record it, badly. Keep it away from anything that measures it, since the making is the point rather than the result.
