You started with a map someone else drew: the language, the roads, the school. Walk it like you know it cost them.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Almost nothing you started with was arranged by you. The language in your mouth, the roads, the school with a desk in it: all of that was built and paid for by people who did not know your name. Inherited things are easy to mistake for natural features of the landscape. Someone laid every one of them.

Pick one thing you use daily without thinking and find out who made it possible. Then use it with some care this week, which mainly means not wasting what was expensive for somebody else. Where the person is still reachable, say the thank you out loud rather than in your head.
