Walk somewhere with no destination once in a while. The point isn’t getting there; it’s being out.

STILLNESS
Almost all movement is instrumental. You are going somewhere in order to arrive, and a walk with no destination removes the point, which is what makes it feel faintly ridiculous and also why it works. With no arrival to organise the time around, your attention has nowhere to be except where you are. That turns out to be rarer than it sounds.
Go out for twenty minutes this week with no route and nothing to accomplish. Leave the podcast off for at least part of it. Take whatever turn looks interesting, and let the whole thing be unproductive, since productivity was never what it was for.
When did you last go outside with no place to be?
