The sky runs a free show every evening and most people are staring at a smaller screen during it.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

The largest thing available every day is also the most reliably ignored. A sunset asks for nothing, charges nothing and repeats, which is why it loses to the thing in your hand that was engineered to hold you. This is not a fair contest on the merits. One of them is designed to win your attention and the other simply exists.

Go outside at the right time once this week and watch it finish, with nothing else happening. Ten minutes is enough. Do it without photographing it, and notice that you can still recall it days later, more than you can say for most of what you scrolled past.
