Scarcity gives priorities meaning because unlimited options would make choosing meaningless.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
If you could do everything, choosing would be a formality, and nothing you chose would say anything about you. It is precisely because time and energy run out that a decision carries meaning: you gave up real alternatives for this one. Scarcity is what makes priorities into statements rather than preferences.
Rather than resenting your limits, use them. Ask what you are actually willing to give things up for. The answer to that is a better description of your values than any list you would write.
What would you still care about if you could have everything?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
