Thankfulness makes room in a life. More stuff mostly just makes clutter.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Wanting more and appreciating what is here pull in opposite directions. One keeps extending the list of things missing, the other keeps shortening it, and only one of them leaves you with any space. Objects accumulate whether or not they were needed, and the pile is often a record of trying to fix a feeling by purchase.

Before the next thing you buy without much thought, name three things you already own that do the job. If that comes easily, you have found the clutter before it arrives. Room in a life gets made by subtracting rather than by adding.
