Treating Monday through Friday like a lobby for Saturday means paying rent on five rooms you never unpack.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Writing off five days out of seven is an enormous amount of life to file under waiting. The weekend is not more real than the week, only less scheduled. If the only hours that count are the ones where nothing is required of you, then most of your years are being spent in a corridor you refuse to look at.

Put something you genuinely like inside the week itself. A Wednesday evening that is yours, a lunch you look forward to, one good thing on a Tuesday. It does not fix the week, and it does stop the week being a place you only pass through.
