The parts of you that do not smooth out are the parts people actually recognize. A laugh you cannot control, an interest nobody else in your year has, a song you know completely for no reason: none of it is impressive and all of it is specific. Filing those edges off makes you easier to describe and much harder to remember.
Stop apologizing for one of them this week. Mention the strange hobby without the disclaimer, laugh at full volume, be openly enthusiastic about the thing. Anyone who finds that too much was never going to be your person anyway.
