Every complaint is an ad for what’s wrong. Run a few ads for what’s right.

What you say repeatedly is what you end up scanning for. Describe the same three problems every day and your attention starts arriving pre-set to find them, and the people around you begin associating you with them too. It is not that complaining is forbidden or that things are secretly fine. It is that a running commentary trains the commentator.

Balance the ledger out loud this week. For every complaint, say one accurate good thing with the same level of detail. Not as positivity, as accuracy, since the good things were happening whether or not anybody mentioned them.
