Your brain has thirty-seven tabs open and is playing music from one of them. Close a few and hear the room.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
A mind holding too many unfinished things does not feel like a mind holding too many unfinished things. It feels like vague pressure with no identifiable source, plus one low anxiety running underneath everything that you cannot locate. Nothing there is individually heavy. The load is the number of them, all staying slightly open at once.
Write them down, all of them, however trivial. Then close three today: answer the message, book the appointment, throw out the thing you kept meaning to decide about. Reducing the count works better than trying to think more calmly with the same count.
What is running in your head that you never closed?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
