A tree in winter isn’t dead. It’s conserving energy. Your slow season might be doing the same.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Rest and decline look identical from the outside, and often from the inside too. A quiet stretch where little seems to be produced can be depletion, or it can be the slow underground work that makes the next stretch possible. Assuming the worst about a slow season usually makes it longer. Not everything that is still is failing.

Before you force momentum, ask honestly what you have been carrying lately. If the answer is a lot, treat the quiet as necessary rather than as a fault to correct. Protect the conditions that let you come back instead of setting a return date.
