Renting a car for a photo doesn’t make you rich. It makes you a tenant of your own image.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Borrowing the look of a life costs money you have and attention you then keep paying. Once the image exists it needs feeding, since anyone who believed the first picture expects a second, and you end up working for a version of yourself you do not get to live in. What drives it is usually not vanity but the wish to be counted as doing fine.
Ask what you want people to actually know about you, and whether the picture delivers any of it. Put the same money towards one thing you will still have next month. Being unimpressive for a while is cheaper and much calmer.
What image of yourself are you paying to maintain?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
