Taking care of something is different from merely owning it.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Ownership is a claim and care is a practice. It is entirely possible to own something for years and never look after it, and the difference shows up in its condition long before it shows up in any decision. The same applies to relationships and responsibilities you would say are yours.

Ask which of the things you consider yours are actually being cared for. Where the answer is none, either start or let it go honestly. Holding without tending helps nobody.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What do you own but not really look after?
