Every app on your phone started with someone who didn’t know how to code yet.

The finished thing hides its own beginning. What you are looking at is the end of a long process that started with somebody equally clueless, and the gap between them and you is mostly time and repetition rather than a difference in kind. Expertise is almost always the accumulation of a beginner who kept going.

Choose the thing you have been assuming is for other people and spend two hours being bad at it this week. Expect the first attempts to be poor, because they are supposed to be. The only unusual part of anyone’s story is that they continued past that point.
