A street with nothing happening is full of unanswered questions the moment you start asking: why that building is shaped that way, what that sign used to say, where everyone is heading at this hour. Attention turns an empty scene into material.

Try it on a route you already walk every day. Find three things you have passed a hundred times and cannot explain. You do not need answers for all of them, since the noticing is what changes the walk.
