New school, new team, new job: spend the first week collecting before you start broadcasting.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Early impressions are formed on very little and they harden fast. In the first week you do not yet know the history or which of the strange arrangements are load-bearing, so anything you broadcast rests on almost no data. What you say early also becomes the version of you that people carry.
Spend the first week asking and listening in a ratio that feels lopsided. Write down what confuses you rather than commenting on it. Your observations will be worth much more in week four, and by then you will have edited half of them.
In a new place, do you listen first or fill silence?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
