Curiosity needs a little empty time to wander in. Fill every minute with a screen and it has nowhere to sit.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Ideas need somewhere to surface, and the places they surface are the gaps: the walk, the shower, the ten minutes before sleep. Those intervals used to be unavoidable and now they are optional. Nothing is wrong with what fills them, only that a mind with no unoccupied time has no room to connect things on its own.

Leave a few gaps open on purpose. Walk somewhere without headphones, or sit for ten minutes doing nothing in particular. It will feel pointless for the first few minutes, which is roughly when it starts working.
