Text your old coach and tell them what stuck. They almost never hear the ending of the stories they started.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

People who shape you rarely find out that they did. A teacher, a coach, a manager says something in passing, it lodges, and they move on to the next group with no idea that a sentence from a Tuesday became part of how somebody operates years later. The feedback loop is almost entirely broken in that direction.

Send the message to the person whose sentence you still use. Be specific about what they said and what it did, because vague thanks is pleasant and forgettable. It takes four minutes and it lands somewhere they were not expecting anything.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which teacher never learned how much they changed you?
