Status games never have a final level. Somebody always has a newer phone.

Relative position is a moving target by definition, because it depends on other people who are also moving. Whatever you acquire places you somewhere in a ranking that reshuffles immediately, and the satisfaction lasts exactly until you see the next version. The game is not rigged against you in particular; it is simply built without an ending.

Pick a few things to judge yourself on that do not depend on comparison. Whether the work was good, whether you kept your word, whether the day was well spent. Those have answers, which is the main advantage they have over standing.
