Being known spreads fast and means very little by itself, since recognition says nothing about what people expect from you. Trust builds slowly out of behavior repeated at times when it was inconvenient. One can be picked up in a month and the other takes years, which is why the two should never be confused.
Ask which of them you have actually been working on lately. Do the things that build the second kind: keep the boring promises, tell the truth when a lie would be easier. That sort of standing is slow to earn and slower to lose.
Who trusts you beyond simply knowing who you are?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
