Motivation is a guest who drops by whenever it feels like it. Build a routine that doesn’t wait at the door.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Motivation is real and completely unreliable, arriving in bursts that cannot be booked in advance. Building anything on it means working only when it visits, which is not often enough to add up to much. A routine does the same job without requiring you to feel like it first.

Decide a time and a minimum you could manage on your worst day, then protect the time rather than the intensity. On a good day you will do more, which is a bonus and not the plan. The days you do it without wanting to are the ones that turn it into a habit.
