An aesthetic is a mood board. An identity is what’s left when the mood board falls off the wall.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Style is a real pleasure and a poor foundation, because it is assembled out of images and images date. What remains once the look changes is how you treat people, what you keep doing after it stops being interesting, and what you refuse outright. That part builds slowly and does not photograph. It is also the only part that transfers when your taste moves on.
Keep the mood board and ask a separate question this week: what would still be true about you if none of it were visible. Write two answers and test them against last month.
What would remain of you without the clothes and playlists?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
