REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Approval and quality are two different measurements that happen to arrive at the same time. A crowd can be enthusiastic about something thin and silent about something solid, because attention runs on novelty and timing rather than on merit. When you let the count decide, you hand your judgment to people who spent two seconds on it.
Before you check the response, write down what you actually think of the thing. Then look. If the numbers and your verdict disagree, ask which one you can defend with reasons. Keep working on the work that survives that test.
