Laundry is never done, only caught up. Most important things in life work the same way.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Some categories have no finish line, and expecting one turns ordinary maintenance into a sense of constant failure. Health, friendship, learning and self-understanding are not projects to complete, they are states to keep returning to. Satisfaction has to come from the returning, since there is no version where you are finished.
Change the measure from done to current, and check whether you are roughly caught up rather than whether you have finished. Set a rhythm you can repeat instead of a push you can survive. Then let being behind on a Tuesday mean nothing more than a Tuesday.
Which never-finished chore do you treat as a personal failure?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
