Weeds grow on their own. Gardens take work. Bad habits and good ones follow the same rule.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

The default is not neutral. Leave any patch of your life alone and something will fill it, and it will almost always be the thing that requires nothing from you. Good habits never install themselves, which makes the comparison unfair from the start and worth knowing about rather than resenting.

Pick the patch that matters most right now and give it ten minutes a day, at a fixed time, whether you feel like it or not. Do not try to clear every weed at once. A garden is not kept by one heroic weekend. It is kept by someone doing a small amount regularly.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which good habit have you left to grow by itself?
