Bridges don’t hold weight by being strong in one spot. They spread it out. So do good friend groups.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

No single point carries the load in a structure built to last, and that is the design rather than a weakness in it. When you put every hard thing on one person, you are asking them to be a bridge with one support, which strains them and isolates you. Distributed weight is what makes a thing able to hold weight at all.

Look at where your hard conversations go. If they all go to one name, add a second. Someone for the practical worry, someone who is funny about it, someone who has been through the same thing.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Are you leaning all your weight on one friend?
