Patience is just endurance that learned some manners.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Underneath patience there is the same capacity that gets you through anything long: the ability to keep going without a result. The difference is the surface. Endurance grits its teeth and lets everyone see the cost, while patience carries the same load without making it everyone else’s problem. Both are the same muscle.

If you are already good at enduring, you have the harder half. Work on the presentation: fewer sighs, less commentary, not making the wait visible to the people around you. It changes how the wait feels for you too, which is the odd part.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where does your endurance show up as rudeness instead?
