The exchange is asymmetric in every way that matters. You are engaging someone whose name you do not know, who has no stake in the outcome and no memory of it by tomorrow, while you carry the thing around all evening drafting further replies. Almost nobody in that format has ever been persuaded of anything.

When you feel the pull to answer, write it somewhere it cannot be posted and then close the app. Ask what winning would actually get you. Your evening is worth more than the last word with a person who will forget you.
