Draw, write or build something nobody will ever see. Private work is where you get brave.

Work made for an audience is shaped by that audience before it is even finished. When something will be seen, you edit toward what is acceptable while you are still making it, and the strange attempt gets removed before it has a chance to become anything. Privacy takes that pressure away completely.

Make something this week intending that nobody will see it. Take the risk you would not take publicly and let it be bad. The range you develop there is what eventually shows up in the work you do share.
